Manual
From Jottopedia
This is the wiki based manual for Jottonia.
Introduction to Jottonia
Jottonia is a massively multiplayer nation simulation based around stock trading and related businesses. Most players try to make money through the trading of shares. Others may find work as ministers, journalists, lawyers, judges, Government Secret Police Officers or loan sharks. However, means of making money are not limited to these. You may even think of new ways to earn some cash! Jottonia is evolving all the time. It does not have an end to it, and is improving by the minute. You may just pop in one day to see that there's a new feature! Or are you angry with all the politicians? If so, start your own party and challenge their policies! All these are improvements and they lie just in your hands!
The Setting
The game takes place in Jottonia. You are trading shares at the Jottonian Stock Exchange in Jottonia's capital, although the market is affected by many other circumstances, both local and abroad.
Jottonia is surrounded by Crowdowia in the west and Steelbonia in the south. Steelbonia, with it's numerous and abundant steel mines mills, is important for the industry in the region, while Crowdowia, as the name suggests, is a huge exporter of poultry. Much of the chicken, which local fast food restaurants, provide come from there. Trade between these countries is very heavy.

Law and Order
To uphold law and order here in Jottonia we have four centers of power. These are Government, Parliament, The Jottonian Courts and the Government Secret Police (GSP).
Parliament and Government are the two legislative powers, while Government, The Jottonian Courts and GSP are the three executive powers.
Beneath you can see a short description of each of the powers, a full description with rules and guidelines for each is displayed within their respective forum.
Government
Government is without doubt the most powerful one of the four. Government consists of the President, his ministers and the game owner. Government see to the daily running of Jottonia. Government makes what we know as the rules of Jottonia. These rules can only be changed by government, and are meant as a set of ground rules. Everything else is up to parliament and the laws they make.
Being a member of government also means that you are a game administrator, and can delete posts, fine players, even kill player accounts depending on your role. Convictions holding the penalty of death cannot be appealed. However fines, warnings, gagging and even jail time may be appealed to the courts of Jottonia where the player in question can argue his or her case. To appeal a punishment the punished player has to contact the courts and file the case within 7 days after punishment occurred. In case of gagging or jail time the time limit is 7 days after gagging is lifted.
Parliament
Parliamentary issues are administrated by the Minister of Domestic Affairs (MoDA). He along with government makes the rules that apply for parliament. Some of the rules and directions are as follows, the rest can be found in parliament and in the politica café around election times.
- Parliament consists of MPs elected by the players, either as independents or as part of political affiliations, no less than every 60 days.
- Details on the democratic process are available. Simply go the the 'Courts' section, then the 'Laws of Jottonia', and look at the Political Rules.
- Parliament has the power to make laws that apply to the whole of Jottonia with two exceptions. Parliament needs governments' approval for laws and other suggestions that require programming. Parliament can also not make laws or suggestions that go against rules made by government.
Jottonian Courts
The Jottonian Courts are led by the Chief Justice. Court procedure is established by the Government.
There are three courtrooms, the magistrates court, the district court and the high court. The judges verdicts are final. In case of serious wrongdoings, the owner of the game or the Government can set aside a verdict. Although this hopefully will never happen.
When a player is on trial his or her assets, according to possible punishment, will be frozen by the courts in case of the player on trial sending them away. If not found guilty compensation for loss of income will be made according to the base amount (BA).
If held in contempt of the courts you may be put in jail for a period of time set by the judge.
Government Secret Police
The GSP are the upholder of law and order on a daily basis. If you get contacted by them you had better watch your step!
The GSP is led by a government member, the Minister of the GSP (MoGSP). He, along with the Government, makes the rules that apply for the GSP.
The GSP is divided into ranks of probationary officer, officer, lieutenant and Minister of the GSP.
The GSP are given special tools to conduct investigations and ensure that Jottonia may be a warning, fine, gagging, killing, or jail time. A player may be put in jail for up to 24 hours without a specific charge being given for purposes of investigation, collection of evidence, to protect the general public etc. After that, a court ordered charge of a crime must be submitted or a special summons from either the President or the Vice President to keep the detainee in jail.
All punishments can be appealed to the courts of Jottonia, except killing or punishment for not helping an officer in an ongoing investigation. To appeal a punishment, the punished player has 7 days after punishment occurred to contact the courts and file the case. In the event of gagging and jail time, the time limit is 7 days after the gag has been lifted.
The GSP forum is somewhat special, it is divided up to two forums, one work forum and one jail forum. Both forums are closed for read and write access for anyone not working for the GSP or currently in jail. However next to the jail forum there will be a public list where everyone currently in jail will be displayed.
The Laws and Rules of Jottonia
Share Trading
As mentioned, stock-trading is what the game revolves around. However, before you try your hands at it, it would be best if you start by understanding the basics.
Be valiant, but not too venturous. Let thy attire be comely, but not costly. -- John Lyly
The Transaction Screen
This screen will show the last 20 executed transactions you have made. It is made up of a table listing; the transaction type, which will be either a purchase or a sale, the company you bought or sold in, the amount of shares you bought, and the actual price of each of the shares.
If a transaction does not go through, which happens if you do not have enough money or if there is not enough circulation of shares, then you will see a table at the bottom of the Transactions screen saying 'Last Failed Transactions'. This shows the same table as the 'Last 20 executed transactions', but also shows the reason why you were not able to buy that amount of shares in that company. The transaction page is reset at the start of every round.
Trading Shares
Trading shares is very simple, and it is the focus of the game. The main way to trade shares is in the Companies Page. This screen shows the various sectors of companies such as Industry and Retailer. Clicking on one of these sectors reveals all the companies under that sector.
If you click on a company you will see a graph showing the change in price of shares over the last 7 days. Underneath this is a table showing the Stock Selling Price, Stock Buying Price, Total Number of Shares and Public Available Shares. Next is a table showing the five most important owners, the five people who own the most shares. Then under this is a table showing the last ten transactions. Showing the player, type of transaction, amount of shares bought/sold, the price and the time when they performed the transactions. Below this are a few paragraphs describing the company.
Under all this is a button saying 'Buy shares in this company'. Clicking this reveals a page showing the selling price, buying price, number of shares, and available shares, your cash, and how many shares you can afford at the current price. Lastly there is a blank space where you can type in how many shares you want to buy, and under this there is a space where you can set the maximum price at which you will buy the shares. When you click send order, the transaction goes through instantly, and all transactions affect the price of the share, however the share price changes on its own every tick which is when the game updates, every 5 minutes.
To sell your shares look at the assets screen and scroll down to the companies you have shares in. On the right of these are buttons saying 'Buy' and 'Sell'. You can buy from here, doing the same as previously, or you can sell. If you click sell you get a similar screen to the buying screen. However you type in how many shares you want to sell, and the minimum price at which you will sell.
The maximum price for buying, and minimum price for selling, are barriers which is crossed stop the transaction from being performed. In other words, if you set the maximum buying price at 120 $penn, then if the stock buying price rose above 120 $penn by the next tick you will not buy these shares. The same is true for the minimum selling price.
Influences
Prices of shares can be affected by anything within the Jottonian world. Probably the main reason for the rise or fall of stock prices is news.
As an example, if a major oil field is burning somewhere in the world or if a major oil producing country is boycotted, the oil price is likely to rise. This will naturally be positive for oil producing companies. However, it will probably prove to be bad news for companies that need low oil prices, e.q. airline companies or plastic manufacturers.
Therefore, when trying to predict the price development of shares, speculators try to find out as much as possible about a company. If a company shows promising future prospects, the value is likely to rise. Some trends are more difficult than others to predict. If a company has just entered a profitable agreement, one doesn't need to be a fortuneteller to guess that the price will rise. However, to be among the most successful investors, one has to analyse the market.
If a certain company have had good news published about them, the prices, naturally, would rise. The same rule applies to companies who have had negative news written about them, except share prices would drop.
Big players with lots of money can also influence the stock scene greatly. For example, if a big player owning a large chunk of one company sells all their shares at one time, the stock prices will drop down a great deal in a straight line, and vice-versa.
Circulation of Shares
If everyone hold their shares tight and never sell anything, the share price is not changing. So, if player A owns 70% of a company, while player B and C owns 20% and 10%, respectively, the share price won't move a $penn unless anything very special happens. (Note that it is illegal to own more than 35% of any company.)
If 50% of the shares are available at the market, the shares will be traded by computer-simulated, "other" investors, and the share price will jump up and down.
The more public available shares, the more the price will change "randomly".
Requesting a Reset
If you run into financial difficulties due to poor investing decisions, you can ask a Government member to reset your assets to 1 million $penn. Simply mail any player with a gold star next to their name, and tell them that you want a reset, and it will be done for you. However, current rules in place only allow for a reset of assets during the first 10 days of a round, while the transfer ban is in place.
Bankruptcy
Bankruptcy is a legally declared inability or impairment of ability of an individual or organization to pay their creditors. A declared state of bankruptcy can be requested or initiated by the bankrupt individual or organization, or it can be requested by creditors in an effort to recoup a portion of what they are owed.
The primary purpose of the laws of bankruptcy are:
- to give an honest debtor a fresh start in life by relieving the debtor of most debts
- to repay creditors to the extent that the debtor has property available for payment
Bankruptcy allows the debtor to resolve his debts through the division of his assets among his creditors. Additionally, the declaration of bankruptcy allows debtors to be discharged of most of the financial obligations, after their assets are distributed, even if their debts have not been paid in full. During the pendency of a bankruptcy proceeding, the debtor is protected from extra bankruptcy action by creditors by a legally-imposed "stay".

Preferences
The tab marked as "preferences" can be described as your own personal piece of Jottonia, where you can change your nickname, your REAL name (which will not be displayed to other players) your password (which is highly recommended after you receive your password) etc. When selecting a password, it is better to create a password with lots of symbols, numbers and other characters making it harder for hackers to guess your password.
Probably the most important thing in your preferences though, is your description. Here you can write whatever (if not offensive and or profane) you want and describe to people what your all about, whether or not you're offended by Spam, and mails begging for money. After typing up your description, be sure that you have clicked the button "Save Prefs" to save your work. Remember that your preferences are an important part of Jottonia and sometimes can be crucial to announcing to other players your current status, (i.e. on vacation etc.) your interests and who you are.
There is currently no button which allows you to delete your account. If you wish to take this course of action, whether it be due to a lost interest in the game or from destroying your reputation on your account and wishing to start over, you must contact a Government member who will delete your account. If you fail to log in within 35 days, your account will be automatically deleted. However, if you want a quick return, you must ensure that your account has been deleted, or you could be convicted of having a multi.
Mails
If you receive a mail, you will be notified with a message above the "manual" tab. Received messages can be found under the "mail" tab. In here you will receive all assets transfer and good purchase receipts, as well as notifications regarding your conglomerate and mails from other players, government officials, mails of all kinds personal and business related. Your mail box is set up so that you can organize it as you please. You may also organise mails into business or personal folders.
Reporting Offending mails to Authorities
If you receive an offensive mail and wish for the person that sent it to be punished so they don’t do it again, then you may report it to the authorities. You will notice a tab next to the reply tab marked "Report Mail to babysitter/GSP/Government". Beware, if you click this tab, it will forward it to the babysitter and, if the mail is not offensive, you may be fined. If a player is fined by the Babysitter for a mail that you have reported, you are not allowed to sue this person for the same crime. Players cannot be punished for the same incident twice.
Current Standings
The current standings rank each player based upon the number of points they have earned in the round. It is updated roughly every hour. Total points are the accumulation of status points, gained by buying goods, power rating and overall assets. For every 1 million $penn you increase by, you obtain 1 point. Your position at the end of the round in the standings determines the number of all-time points that you receive.
All-Time Ranking
At the end of each round, you are given 'all-time' points, the only kind of points that you keep from round to round. The higher in the rankings you were at the time the round reset, the more 'all-time' points you will receive. In the 'other-players' menu, you can see a listing of the 'all-time top 100 investors.'
| 1nd place | 20 points |
|---|---|
| 2nd place | 15 points |
| 3rd place | 12 points |
| 4th place | 11 points |
| 5th place | 10 points |
| Among 5% best | 8 points |
| Among 10% best | 6 points |
| Among 20% best | 5 points |
| Among 30% best | 4 points |
| Among 40% best | 3 points |
| Among 50% best | 2 points |
| Among 70% best | 1 point |
| The rest | 0 points |
Players can also view their total all time points on their assets screen. Players in the top 100 are removed from the list if they leave the game. The list is updated at the end of every round.
Lounges
Secondary to investing in the Jottonian Stock Exchange, you can visit with people in various places and talk to them about different subjects. These places are referred to 'The Lounges.' There are many lounges, each dealing with different topics. There are 2 kinds of topics that you will see in any lounge: a normal topic and a 'sticky' topic. The normal topic is just a regular topic that you can post in, and have fun in. The 'sticky' topic is noted by a little yellow pin to the left of the topic name. Sticky topics are usually topics that are of great importance, usually an announcement from the government, or an unusual or special activity that is going to happen in Jottonia. For real-time conversations with players, you can also use the official Jottonia IRC channel. However, let's look at each of the lounges and what you do in them:
Game Forum
First, at the top of the list, there's the Game Forum. In here, you can post questions on how to play the game or if you're experienced, you can answer them. Other topics can be found, such as the execution list of caught multies. The Game Forum is also the first place to look for announcements on job opening or university courses, as well as important announcements about new rules that the public may need to know.
Pinto's Pub
Second, there is Pinto's Pub. This is THE most active lounge in all of Jottonia, and the only topic-free forum. Pinto's is named after a favourite pub of game founder, Jotto. You can discuss anything there and chat with a wide range of citizens. However, you must ensure that you are not offensive to others.
Newbie Forum
This forum was formerly Weezers bar but on Jottonian day 2006 Weezer gave it up in a competition, the bar then changed owner every round.
--NEW-- If you are new to Jottonia, this forum is just for you.
Investors' Lounge
Another important lounge is the Investor's Lounge. This is a lounge where you can get great stock tips and even give them. As a bonus, this is the only lounge that runs its own official contest, the Investor's Lounge Awards (ILAs). If you post the most helpful and well-written tips throughout the week, you may be the winner of a substantial cash prize!
Jottonian Temple
The Jottonian temple is the holiest of the lounges that everyone can read and write in. The Temple is where weddings are held, where the record of weddings is shown and where previous players can be remembered and their names protected if they enter the cemetery. Here you can also pray whenever you want, and for whatever you want. If you want to get married, or have someone buried, contact the priest.

The Temple of Jottonia can be accessed and posted in by all.
Jottonian Stocktool
Not so much a forum, more a way of viewing all of Jottonia's stocks in one place.
Conglomerates
Conglomerates are a group of investors that generally strive for the same goal, usually to come out as first in rankings throughout the round. Conglomerates are managed by the conglomerate's founder, whoever created it. You can only create a conglomerate if you're super aristocratic. Anybody can join a conglomerate, unless you own a conglomerate or if you're already a member of another conglomerate.
If you wish to join a conglomerate, you click on the conglomerate's name, and then click on the 'Apply For Membership' button. Fill in your application and it will be sent to the conglomerate owner. You'll have to wait for the conglomerate owner to approve or reject your application.
Once a member of the conglomerate, you can view their private forums and you'll have the conglomerate name next to your name. If you're already a member, and intend to leave the conglomerate for any reason, you go to the conglomerate's page by clicking on it's name, the click the 'Resign from conglomerate' link. You will immediately leave the conglomerate.
As a super aristocrat, you are enabled to found your own conglomerate. In order to do so, you need to go to the "Conglomerates" page in the navigational menu to your left. If you're already part of a conglomerate, you will need to resign from it. If you belong to no conglomerates, you'll see a link 'Found your own conglomerate.' Upon clicking the "Conglomerates" button, you'll see a link 'Found your own conglomerate. You may then continue onto a page whereby you can customize your conglomerate name, motto, and description.
Once you create your conglomerate, you can post in forums or privately mail people to join our conglomerate. Use discretion however when mailing people; some people may not react well to being asked to join your conglomerate.
Marriage
It is possible for players to marry each other. Married players will get a ring and their husband/wife's name in their profile, and at the asset page.
To marry a player, the couple have to send a mail to the priest of Jottonia. The priest may demand a small fee for the wedding, which is held at the Jottonian temple. You will also find the current priest in the Temple, as it might change through time.
If one (or both) of the players wants a divorce. (a)If amicable the two players, with their priest, will divide assets in relation to the pre-nuptial agreements. (b)If no pre nuptial agreements are made, the assets will be shared 50-50. Unless there are weighty arguments otherwise. If there are disputes, it will be handled by the judicial system.
Jail
It's in the basement of the brooding and heavy stone facade of the GSP building in downtown Also. An inmate would go through this process: Once you descend the set of 2000 stairs you reach a super high-tech door that leads to a thick walled square room with another high-tech door on the other wall. You are buzzed in and are searched and stripped of your belongings, your wallet/purse are taken as well as credit cards. All your assets are frozen at this point. You are strip searched, de-loused, given a set of PINK JUMPERS (the standard prison outfit for inmates) and led to a row of 24 cells to your new home for the duration of your stay. Oh, there's a forum for you to be able to talk to your tormentors....err.....jailers.......but a little bug needs to be sprayed. If you have a friend in jail and want to visit him/her you can send and application to the Minister of the GSP. In other words, while in jail, you can not sell/buy shares, buy hostilities/protection, transfer anything, send mails, post in any forums besides jail forum.
Hostilities
Not everyone are friends in Jottonia (or any other place for that matter). Hence, some people do dubious things to each others. The reason may be financial targets, anger, envy or simply destructive urge.
Some companies in Jottonia have realized this, and are earning big bucks on the hostilities in the financial world in Jottonia. If you want to treat somebody badly, you can hire bad people to harass others, sabotage their business, steal their $penn, their shares and their goods, or other more or less questionable actions.
Let's face it: it's hard to make your way to the top with fair play. So why try? Of course a man of your rank don't wont to get dirt on your hands, so you can hire bad guys from various companies to do the dirty job. Hire some of those guys for what's known as "bastardation" and give your competitors a hard time.
Note that Hostilities are illegal, and if the target has sufficient evidence the perpetrator can be prosecuted in a Jottonian Court.
Protection
Are other investors harassing you? Do you feel unsafe? Maybe it's time to hire people to protect yourself and your business. Unless you've had your education at an agent school, you want to let the professionals do the job. Some companies offer both protection against hostile attempts and private investigation, so that you can find out who it was that ordered an attack against you.

Political Party
As one should know, political parties play a very important role within a nation. Without any political party, you may actually say that democracy has lost one of its main pillars.
Political parties are constantly attempting to fight for voters' opinions, they are constantly fighting for the right to represent the people and also for the right to initiate and manage the welfare of the citizens. Founders of political parties usually start with a political platform of their own. In other words, they have certain policies which they hope to implement for the people.
In order to establish a party in Jottonia, you will first have to amass at least 5 members. You must then proceed to work on your political platform as well as official party site. After all these have been done, you are required to send an application to the Minister of Domestic Affairs, and seek for his approval. Once you are officially-recognised, you may go on to run for seats in the parliament.
Now, are you unsatisfied with the existing parties in Jottonia? If so, then start your own!
The Parliament
The Parliament is the legislature of Jottonia. The Parliament members are constantly discussing and debating their meanings to decide what they think is best for Jottonia, and the people of Jottonia.
The Parliament consists of roughly 5 parliament members, put together by the political parties. Each party gets a certain amount of representatives based on the results from the parliament election, which is held every 60 days.
The sole object and only legitimate aim of the Parliament is to continually improve the circumstances in Jottonia. This can be acheived through making laws and programming recommendations. The motion to bring up a new discussion in the parliament can be requested by the government, the parties, or any other citizen that points out a problem, or knows how to improve Jottonia further.
If the parliament makes a decision, it will be sent to the government, who executes it unless it involves programming, then the government can choose to deny it. Decisions that go against current rules and laws may also be denied by government.

Jottonia is a semi-democracy, and as a semi-democracy, each person over the age of 20 days is allowed to vote, providing they have completed at least 20 transactions. These restrictions are put into place to prevent people from rigging elections by creating any number of ilegal multies.
The voting system is used for many purposes. Their most important role if for Parliamentary elections, but they can also be used to help the government to make a decision on an idea or issue. If you wish to start your own poll, a mail should be sent to a government member.
Miscellaneous
News
Just like in the real world, if you want to be informed on current events, you need to read the newspaper. However, unlike in the real world, the Jottonian Times is given to you for free! This newspaper, run by a Chief Editor, is written by a number of freelancers. It is updated 1-2 times a day. The newspaper has three distinct sections, Business, Politics, and Miscellaneous.
The Business section has to do with what is going on in different companies. These are the articles which make the stocks go up or down. For example, if an article is published and it says, "Christmas is canceled for this upcoming year.", then X-mas Trees Galore, Inc. will most likely go down the tube.
The Politics section provides us with news on the political aspect of Jottonia. Most of the time, it contains news which are related to the elections, political parties and parliament. Do you want to know what takes place within these organizations? If so, keep your eyes on this articular section of the JT!
The Miscellaneous section has articles on anything imaginable. It could contain an article on a new Chief Justice, a warning to all spammers, an update in the game, or even a game show! If you want to become a freelancer and write articles for the Jottonian Times, then you need to mail the Chief Editor. A short application text and a sample article with headline, ingress and text. It is important that you keep a copy of the article on your computer, as you will have to resubmit it in order to get it printed in the newspaper after you're employed as a freelancer.
Shopping
Going to Jottonia's very own shopping center couldn't be easier. With the mere click of a button you are there. Here you can view different types of items for sale in Jottonia including; Limited Goods - which only the wealthy can afford - cars, pets, helicopters and even drugs. By clicking on one of these options, you bring up a variety of goods to be bought. These goods generally give good status points, but beware some give negative points such as the rotten Crowdowian Flag. The best item in terms of status points for your money will change from time to time, just to make it that little bit more difficult for you! Goods are vital at the end of a round, as players look to push themselves up the rankings. Every round, a best good is released, offering the most status points. A riddle is also published after the Winner's Trophy is purchased to enable you to find the good.
Loans
Q: What is a loan?
A loan is when certain players, who have money they wish to share, start up a loaning business. They then charge the customers to borrow their money, at an interest rate, which is charged per day.
Example: Player A borrows 1,000,000 $penn for player B. The interest rate is 10%. After 2 days, Player B wants his money back. Player A must pay Player B 1,200,000 $penn back. NB. The interest rate is based on the original loan amount.
Q: Why take out a loan?
You may decide to take out a loan for many reasons. You may find a really good share to invest in, but have no spare cash. You may want to buy a really good limited good, but not have the money for it. Whatever the reason for the loan, remember you will probably have to pay back more money than you originally got.
Q: How do I get a loan?
To get a loan, you must first send an application to the loan company you wish to borrow the money from. First click on the name of the company. Then enter the amount of $penn you wish to borrow, along with an application, saying why you want the money. Then submit your application. The owner of the loan company will receive a mail in his inbox, saying that he has a loan request. He will then decide whether to accept or decline the loan, or to negotiate for a better offer.
Q: How do I start a loaning business?
To start a loan business, you must first have more than 10 million $penn in total assets. You can then send in an application. Your application should say what your interest rate will be, and who you offer cash to (new players, experienced players, rich players etc.). Your loan business may not be accepted at first. However, eventually one of the government members may decide to accept your business. Then you can start giving out loans.
Q: How do I accept a loan?
If you have received an application for a loan, you must follow the instructions in the mail. When you arrive at your loan business page, you can choose whether to accept or decline the loan.
Establishments
In addition to the companies on the stock market, some establishments are managed by regular Jottonian citizens. They do this as a job, doing the various day-to-day tasks involved in doing business. To cover the managers' salaries, the establishments charge a certain fee for their services
Jotheby's
Jothebys is an auction house, where players can auction off goods, aristocracy or other services. It is run by the auction leader Minister of Entertainment.
If you wish to start an auction, you must mail the auction leader, stating what you wish to sell, the starting price, and, if you want to, the minimum increment of the next bid. He will then decide whether to start the auction, which will begin in a separate thread.
Ratings
In Jottonia, your goal is of course to get rich - really rich. Being rich is however not fun if you don't have power.
To gain power in Jottonia, you must have influence on the financial world in Jottonia.
Power Ratings
To get this influence, you must own significant parts of a company. The higher percentage of shares of a company you own, the more higher power rating you get. The power rating is calculated from the amount of shares you own in the company and the total amount of shares of the company. To get really high power rating, you must own the majority of the shares. Note: You can only legally own 35% of any one company.
Status Points
Status points are points that you can get for owning certain types of goods. As a general rule, the more expensive an item is, the more status points you will get for it. However, this does not apply all the time. A Ferrari, for instance, gives you a higher status rating than a rubbish dump, even though they cost the same. One thing to note here is that some items do not give you any status points, and some will even give you negative status points.
The score is calculated from the money earned (cash and stock value) and the power rating like:
Points = Cashvalue + Stockvalue + (Goodsvalue − Borrowedloans)
Aristocracy
What is it?
Super Aristocracy and Classic Aristocracy are an extra part of the game that, although not necessary, is very useful and makes the game a little more interesting. You must pay to use the aristocracy feature (view How to Get it) but it is a relatively small amount. The features of owning aristocrat status are:
- Found Conglomerates - Only Super Aristocracy.
- Transfer $penn, goods and shares; You can use your aristocrat ability to send other players money, goods, shares in companies and even artistocracy. This enables you to buy and sell goods in Jotheby's.
- No advertisements (Norwegian Users); This means Norwegian players will no longer see ads on their screen
- See what shares other players are holding! This might make the investing a little easier when you are having trouble finding the right company to buy shares in
You can see if a player is Super Aristocrat by looking at their name to see if there is a spinning gold bar in front of it.
Some players have spinning bronze circles in front of their names. This means they are an Old Aristocrat that means their aristocracy does not run out, but they do not have all the features Super Aristocrats have.
How to acquire Aristocracy?
Please use the aristocracy link in the game menu to see further details on how to acquire aristocracy as well as prices.

Winning the game, rounds and reset
Resets and rounds
Although the game never ends, it has rounds that typically last for a few months. When a new round begins, the game is reset, and all players start (almost) from scratch. What happens is:
- The players' cash is reset to 1,000,000 $penn
- All shares are deleted
- All goods are deleted
- All loans are deleted
The players however keep their
- Experience record; the number of days active and the number of transactions performed
- All-time points
After each round, players are given "all-time points" according to their ranking. The "all-time" points are kept as long as the player is alive. Thus, each player has an ever-lasting career in Jottonia with a "hall of fame" that is never reset.
How to win a round
In each round, a "winner's trophy" will appear. This will be a unique "limited merchandise" that is very expensive. The first player to purchase this merchandise will win the round. To purchase this winner's goods, the player must fulfill certain requirements, like owning certain other limited goods, having a certain number of status points, etc. Thus, it is not enough just to have lots of cash in order to be the winner! The Past Round Winners are an elite group, who have exhausted a great deal of effort in order to etch their names into Jottonian folklore.
